Slanetz & Bartley (S&B) Agar is a selective medium used for the isolation and enumeration of enterococci in water, using the membrane filtration method. It is preferably used for samples intended or to be intended for human consumption. The S&B Agar medium can also be used with other types of samples using the direct plating technique.
